Savor the Square
Savor the Square is a culturally-inspired economic development initiative that supports BIPOC micro-entrepreneurs, including vendors, musicians, and performers, through a curated platform that allows them to showcase their creative expressions while generating revenue and bridging shared cultural experiences through community. The Nubian Square anchor takes form in a series of monthly themed events held April–October and includes the recent launch of the Greater Roxbury Book Fair as part of its event portfolio.

Savor the Square is a vibrant food market that brings together local food entrepreneurs and the community in the heart of Nubian Square. This initiative celebrates the rich cultural diversity of Roxbury through food, creating economic opportunities for local vendors while fostering community connections.
Every week, Savor the Square transforms Nubian Square into a lively gathering place where residents and visitors can enjoy delicious, culturally diverse cuisine from local chefs and food entrepreneurs. The market not only provides a platform for small businesses to grow but also creates a welcoming space for community engagement and celebration.

This proactive partnership between TACC, Roxbury Main Streets, and the Boston Public Library is the implementation of a key recommendation from the Nubian Square Market Analysis and enriches the Square in four ways:
- Expands an amenity that sparks positive energy and fun in the community
- Activates a high-visibility public space by increasing the number of residents who visit Nubian Square
- Supplies healthy, locally-grown and locally-produced food to residents
- Boosts economic opportunities for Roxbury Main Streets and micro-businesses
